Welcome to the Asbury Circuit
The circuit covers northern area of Birmingham, and has within it one of the most sensitive inner city areas in the whole country with high levels of unemployment and deprivation. The circuit has two predominantly black churches, two multi-racial churches, and four mainly white churches. As a Circuit we are committed to: Cultural diversity: Working in ecumenical partnerships: Providing opportunities for spiritual growth: developing leadership: Enabling churches to deal with change; Encouraging sustainable church growth. Future enlarged Circuit (proposed as of September 2011) The merging of several circuits is now in planning stages, to form a New Circuit for Birmingham. Click on above link to see the Briefing Paper on progress to date. The objectives are as follows:
“The resourcing of Methodist people centered in and around Birmingham for effective evangelism, faithful discipleship, compassionate service and transforming worship within the wider Christian community.”
